What is the part I click on the image?
It tells the tool what must stay in view. Every crop is centred on that point whenever the shape allows it, so a face or a logo is not cut off. Move it and all the previews update.
Why 1200 by 630 for a link preview?
It is the size Facebook, LinkedIn, WhatsApp, Slack and most messengers show for a shared link. The image is cropped to a wide rectangle, so keep the important part in the middle.
What are the safe-area guides?
On Instagram Stories and YouTube channel banners, parts of the image are covered by buttons, names or different screen shapes. The dashed box shows where text and logos are safe.
Will my image be enlarged?
Only if it is smaller than the size a platform needs. We tell you which sizes need that, because an enlarged image looks soft. Start with the biggest version you have.
Which file type should I pick?
PNG is the sharpest. JPG is smaller and fine for photos. WebP is the smallest, though not every platform accepts it for uploads, so check before you use it.
Are the sizes up to date?
They are the sizes each platform recommends today. Platforms change them from time to time, and we update the list when they do. For anything important, check the platform's own help page.
Is my image uploaded anywhere?
No. Cropping happens in your browser and your image never leaves your device.
