Questions
Which regex flavour does it use?
JavaScript's, the same engine your browser and Node.js use. Most basics work the same in other languages, but features such as lookbehind and named groups differ between them.
What do the flags do?
g finds every match, i ignores upper and lower case, m lets ^ and $ match at each line, s lets the dot match line breaks and u turns on full Unicode support.
How do I see capture groups?
Each match lists its groups as $1, $2 and so on, and named groups by name, such as (?<user>\w+).
Why is my pattern slow or stuck?
Patterns with nested repeats, such as (a+)+, can take very long on some text. Simplify the pattern or shorten the test text.
Is my text uploaded?
No. The pattern runs in your browser, and neither it nor your text is sent anywhere.
