How does it find errors?
It parses the text the same way a browser does. When something is wrong, it shows the line and column of the first problem, such as a trailing comma, a missing quote or an unquoted key.
What is the difference between format and minify?
Format adds indentation and line breaks so people can read it. Minify removes all the extra spaces, which makes the file smaller to send.
Is my JSON uploaded to a server?
No. It is checked and formatted in your browser, so it is safe to paste data such as API responses or config files.
Does sorting keys change my data?
It only changes the order in which object keys are written. Values and array order stay the same. Sorting is useful for comparing two files.
Does it accept comments or single quotes?
No, because they are not part of standard JSON. Remove comments and use double quotes for keys and text.
